Protection Team Leader

Overview:

The Protection Team Leader will coordinate the Mosul response Protection team and implement protection programming in Mosul. They will facilitate the incorporation of safe programming minimum standards in our humanitarian programmes, and where necessary set up systems for referral and advocate on key protection issues in accordance with country & international law.

Dimensions:

  • Supervise Protection Officers to implement direct protection programming in the form of Cash for Protection, Protection monitoring and assessments, information dissemination, and other protection activities in the Mosul response

  • Oversee a protection budget monitoring and record budget expenses to protection implementation

  • Directly supervise Protection Officers to implement protection programming and ensure safe programming across the Iraq response.

  • Provide input and technical support to the development of WASH, livelihoods and Cash programming to help ensure safe programming and conflict sensitivity is taken into account in design, planning and implementation.

  • Maintain a close dialogue with the Policy Adviser supporting the Iraq crisis to input into policy lines and analysis and identify the coordination and cohesion on protection issues in programming and policy and advocacy work.

  • Attend Coordination and working groups as necessary so to have input and contribution to the humanitarian coordinated response, including the sub-groups and returns working group.

  • Review concept notes / proposals and provide input and guidance on their development including budget and implementation / work plans if necessary.

  • Support the country team on issues related to protection through provision of advice and guidance in conjunction with the global Protection Adviser.

  • Assist Protection Coordinator with development of protection proposals in line with country strategy and intended intervention areas with technical input.
