The Role

As head of retail operations, you will provide inspirational leadership and the effective management of Oxfam’s GBs 575 shop teams,  20,000 volunteers. You will empower and enable others around you to see the wider context and bigger picture is necessary. You will role model our values of empowerment, accountability and inclusivity to enable our shop teams to maximise financial contribution through our retail and e-commerce operations.

As part of the Retail Leadership Team, you will share in the management and leadership of the Retail Division and be responsible for embedding our transformative retail strategy across the retail operation and to raise as much money for Oxfam as possible.

What we are looking for

As head of retail operations, you will have:

  • Strong drive to achieve results, interprets the mission and strategy into clear and achievable plans. Monitoring the success of these plans and building on successes/ dealing with failures.
  • Proven ability to inspire a diverse group on a large scale and to performance manage individuals in order to get the best from them.
  • Ability to think strategically and see the big picture while maintaining an eye for detail and leading on specific operational projects.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to communicate, inspire, influence, negotiate and to present information and ideas.
  • Ability to work under pressure and resilient to the everyday pressure that comes with the role.
  • Full, clean driving license and high levels of literacy and numeracy
