Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • In collaboration with the Public Sector Partnerships Management Team, develop a strategic approach for engaging institutional partners in a cohesive way across the WWF Network in support of WWF’s conservation priorities.
  • Ensure strong coordination and collaboration across WWF offices to maximise strategic opportunities across global financial institutions, including regional bilateral and multilateral agencies, regional development banks and emerging partners.
  • Lead and act as central focal point for WWF Network efforts to build strong partnerships in order to magnify impact, influence and resources and to ensure a coordinated WWF voice and alignment across partners’ priorities and those of WWF.
  • Promote and guide the development of WWF office or programme PSP strategies, targets, processes and procedures for partnerships with specific PSPs, reflecting environmental and social safeguard, compliance and quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with conservation teams, conservation practices and country and regional teams to explore strategic and innovative funding opportunities to support WWF programme priorities across themes and geographies, including new and non-traditional institutional partnerships.
  • Collaborate with private sector teams (corporate and philanthropy) to leverage public-private partnership opportunities, including nature-based solutions and strategic partnerships in support of WWF’s conservation activities.
  • Oversight of relationships and contracts with public sector partners managed by WWF International, in order to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and risk assurance. Strategic support and guidance to the WWF Network on partnership development and relationship management aligned to WWF priorities and mission.

Required qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent, preferably at the postgraduate level.
  • At least ten years’ evidenced experience managing strategic partnerships with multilateral and bilateral agencies or similar.
  • At least ten years experience of successfully leading teams directly, virtually and in a matrix structure
  • Experience in innovative funding and/or sustainable finance or strategic resource mobilisation and partnerships to support programme delivery.
