  • Opportunity to drive the GEDSI agenda across multiple sector programs in Fiji and Tuvalu
  • Full time contract until January 2022
  • Based in Suva, Fiji. Travel within Fiji and Tuvalu likely to be required

The Program

The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji.  The Facility also supports the Australia Awards and education programs in Tuvalu.  The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs.  In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.

The company managing the Facility on behalf of the Australian Government, Coffey, is recruiting the position of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Senior Adviser.

The Position

The GEDSI Senior Adviser will lead the integration of GEDSI across all the Facility’s programs and provide strategic advice to Facility and donor staff, partner Ministries and Civil Society Organisations, in line with international good practice.  She/he will guide the Facility and partners towards taking realistic and practical action to promote GEDSI and will be a strong and vocal advocate for integrating GEDSI throughout the Facility’s structures and processes and will actively build the capacity of staff across the Facility.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in a relevant field, combined with a contemporary understanding of international best practice approaches to GEDSI and proven experience in delivering gender equality and/or disability and social inclusion strategies across development programs.  Importantly they will have proven leadership, team building and inter-personal skills, including ability to influence change and broker successful partnerships across organisations.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the selected candidate. This contract will be offered based on a local contract and does not include any accommodation or other allowances. Fiji citizens and non-citizens based in Fiji are encouraged to apply.
