We are looking for a highly-motivated bid management professional who works calmly under pressure and delivers quality work in the tight timeframes required by the bidding process. The Bid Manager will be responsible for leading responses to bids (grants and tenders) that are complex, high-value, global and/or country funded. They will able to lead globally disbursed virtual bid teams, being responsible for managing the opportunities from start to finish, including leading on capture planning and opportunity appraisal (bid/nobid). They will support Oxfam programme staff in the UK and overseas to develop effective bid winning strategies and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary inputs and support. The successful candidate will be expected to have and be able to apply a broad range of commercial bid knowledge and experience (in both grants and/or tenders) across a range of donor agency clients and funding mechanisms.
Based in Oxford, the successful candidate will be expected to work across Oxfam GB, to collaborate across the confederation of OI affiliates, and to work with a range of other stakeholder partnerships. Some travel may be required outside of the UK equivalent to approximately 12-14 weeks per annum in order to support country programmes in competitive bidding processes
Oxfam GB’s Programme Funding & Partnerships (PFP) team has a strong global track record of successfully supporting the development of high-quality programme funding proposals, generating and supporting restricted donor programme income of more than £200m/year from leading institutional Donors (bilateral and multilateral), trust and foundations. We have specialist experience and capability in single country and multi-country programme funding, of traditional and emerging aid modalities and mechanisms, of commercial tendering and of complex consortia formation and partnerships development.
The Bids and Frameworks team sits within the PFP and aims to ensure Oxfam has consistently improved capability to successfully pursue grant and tender opportunities. We also ensure Oxfam effectively utilises new and existing framework opportunities and agreements. We accomplish this by providing technical advice and professional leadership for competitive, specialised and complex grant and tender processes. We serve as Oxfam's global focal point for bidding best practices and framework management. We are a team of highly motivated professionals who provide quality leadership in the demanding bidding environment.
Location: OXFORD (OXFAM HOUSE)
Hours: 36 per week
Salary: £30,375 - £39,380 p.a. depending on experience
This is a Fixed Term Contract - Till 31st March 2019
