To support our business in the Gulf (GCC) region, we are looking for a

Project Manager

The Project Manager will be expected to provide long-term project management, coordination, and liaising services to support the implementation of projects with National Statistical Offices in the Gulf region, especially in Saudi Arabia. He will be responsible for the management tasks assigned by GOPA, the provision of support to the team, the representation of GOPA on-site and contribution to the overall efforts directed towards the successful implementation of the GOPA projects in the region. His main functions include:

  • Managing and overseeing the successful implementation of ongoing projects for which he is responsible;
  • Continuously having both a full overview of the respective projects and detailed knowledge of their activities;
  • Coordinating activities with the project teams;
  • Continuously liaising with the project experts and providing them with the relevant information;
  • Supporting the project experts during their on-site mission where the project manager is based, including coordinating with GOPA headquarters to ensure proper preparation and readiness;
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the work;
  • Reporting daily to GOPA headquarters and submitting progress reports on a weekly basis;
  • Maintaining communication lines between the clients and GOPA headquarters;
  • Reporting and resolving any issues that might affect project implementation;
  • Arranging and attending meetings as required by the projects and GOPA;
  • Translating documents as necessary from English to Arabic and vice versa;
  • Representing GOPA to the client and presenting GOPA’s work when needed.



  • At least 5 years of experience in project management;
  • Project Management Professionals (PMP) or those holding equivalent certification are especially encouraged to apply;
  • Professional working command of the English language;
  • Native-level proficiency in Arabic;
  • Mobility and willingness to live in and travel within the Gulf Region;
  • Familiarity with statistical topics will be considered an asset.

The planned starting date is September 2017 and the envisioned duration 12 months with the possibility of extension.
